We have adopted the DfE Power maths scheme of work for maths in Ks1 and 2 and use the NCETM mastering number programme in the Early years.

Teachers adapt the Power maths schemes as necessary for their particular classes and children's needs. 


We advocate a mastery approach so that children follow the same topic to a greater depth with more problems and investigation rather than moving on to content from different year groups whilst supporting those who need more help to catch up and keep up.


We guide teachers to encourage children to think deeply about concepts by asking them to reason consistently and consider question types that ask them to develop their flexible thinking skills, multiple representations and prove particular ways of thinking etc.
